About Us - Staff:

 

 

Pastor Jim Fowler has served Lakeside Lutheran Church since 1996.  Previously, he served two rural Lutheran congregations in his home state of Iowa and another Lutheran congregation in urban Houston. 

Pastor Jim believes that Christians who are intentional about growing their personal discipleship are those whom God can use in the sacred mission of loving and blessing the world.

He holds the Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, the Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, and the Doctor of Ministry from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

He is married to Heidi, a Medical Technologist at the Woman's Hospital of Texas.  Their daughter is Sarah, currently a student at San Jacinto College in Houston.

Kathleen Johnson is the Office Manager at Lakeside.  In that capacity, she serves in many ways:

  • Kathleen compiles, edits and produces the weekly worship bulletins, the Sunday announcement page, Fridge Notes, and the monthly newsletter, The Beacon.
  • She orders supplies and services for the congregation, as needed.
  • Hers is the friendly voice you usually hear first when you call Lakeside.

In addition to her service as Office Manager, Kathleen also volunteers many hours to the confirmation, discipleship, and milestones ministries of the congregation.
